
Alessio De Rosi

Alessio has been professionally coaching for 15
years; previously he was a competitive swimmer ranked forth in
Italy in the 200 IM and 100-200 Breaststroke. In the past two years
as the NASA Head Age group Coach, the team has broken 13 State
records and 1 National record. In summer 2010, the NASA Team ranked
9th in the State. Previously, as head coach of his former team
(Aurelia Nuoto) in Italy, his swimmers achieved medals at regional,
national and international level competitions. Along with a
frequent interaction with other head coaches, Alessio had the
opportunity to work with, and learn from, Cesare Butini, his former
coach, head coach of the Italian National Swim Team. With a
focus on technique, Alessio can quickly assess a swimmer’s
level (beginner to professional athlete) and develop drills
sequences to help them advance in any of the competitive
strokes. As a certified Physical Ed. teacher in Illinois
& Italy, Alessio integrates the fundamental principles of
learning through fun and positive attitude in his teaching
philosophy. Alessio is looking forward to using his knowledge
and passion to help swimmers achieve their full
potential.

Adriana Marmolejo
Silver & Bronze Coach

Mexican Olympian Adriana Marmolejo has been
added to the NASA Wildcat coaching staff. With her thick
international swimming resume, Marmolejo will help bring her
winning tradition to the NASA Wildcat swimming team. Marmolejo has
been to the past three Olympic Games: Sydney in 2000, Athens in
2004 and Beijing in 2008, making her the first Mexican woman to
qualify for three Olympics in swimming. Marmolejo earned the bronze
medal in the 200 breast at the 2003 Pan American Games. In the
Central American Games, she has tallied six gold medals and three
silver and accumulated eight gold and five silver medals at the
Central American Championships. In her native country, she has
reached 75 national titles and holds 50 national records. Marmolejo
has been the Mexican national record holder in the 50, 100 and 200
breast since 1998. In addition to working with the NASA Wildcat
program, Marmolejo is training to make her record 4th straight
Olympic games in 2012.

Joe Agnew
Developmental Group Coach

Joe is enjoying his 6th year as a NASA coach, but
has been teaching swimming to people of all ages and abilities for
nearly three decades. In addition to coaching NASA developmental
swimmers, he also works with adults, teens, and children who are at
the beginning level. Joe has also been a regular morning lap
swimmer for many years.
In his other professional life, Joe works for a
company that services association professionals. In his free time,
he enjoys bike riding and checking out the swim facilities wherever
he travels.

Khashayar Sarrafi
Dryland Coach

Khashayar Sarrafi is in his 3rd
year with NASA Wildcat Aquatics. He began his strength and
conditioning coaching as an assistant while completing his
education in sports management at Loyola university Chicago.
He is also working with northwestern men's swimming as a volunteer
conditioning trainer. He is a master trainer and triathlon
coach at northwestern athletic dept. Khashayar was a rescue
swimmer for two years while also teaching at the rescue swimmer
school. He is a member of Shanghai University as a "house of
strength head coach" at the College of Physical Education and
director of Zurkhaneh sports and psychology of movememt in
Pahlevani wrestling at sports research center.
