Olympic Trials - Revisiting the Past and Looking to the Future!
Trials have been underway for the past week, but Wave II is what we’ve really been looking forward to! After years of hard work, dedication, sacrifice and every emotion and physical pursuit you can imagine, your teammate, Carly Novelline gets her chance at Olympic glory. Carly is competing in the 100 Back on Monday, June 14th and the 100 Free on Thursday, June 17th. You can watch trials via USA Swimming (link is at the top of the home page). On January 12th, Carly sat down for a Q&A session to talk about Trials, how she handled the pandemic, and so much more. You can read the transcript here or watch the video here. Good luck, Carly!
Since 2008, WILD has had swimmers in every Olympic Trials including Alisa Finn (2008), Andrew Jovanovic, Kevin Quinn and Evan Swenson (2012), Ella Tierney, Jamie Kolar, Riley Lanigan (2016), and Carly Novelline, Annika Wagner, Luke Maurer (2021+1). Azra Avdic also had times for 2016 but she is from Peru and went to World Champs instead. Though he wasn’t with us when he made his cut in the 400 Free, recent former teammate Rex Maurer also made an appearance in wave I trials.
