NASA Wildcats Mission and DYK

Alex Cramer

Our mission at NASA Wildcats is to foster a culture of excellence, inclusivity and equity through the sport of swimming. In keeping with that mission, the Did You Know (DYK) section of our newsletter highlights stories of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). You’ll find stories of other cultures, historically underrepresented athletes, mental health, LGBTQIA topics and statements from the team regarding worldly incidents that may impact our community members. Who are our community members? You! Our parents, WILD athletes, coaching staff, board members, volunteers, facility staff, and the communities in which all of the above live in. It is beyond important to us that everyone who comes through the NASA Wildcat doors feels valued, listened to and safe. By providing a culture of understanding and acceptance, we hope our athletes are excited to swim and lead in their own way on and off the pool deck. On our website you’ll find tons of resources for parents, athletes, coaches, officials/admin and those living with a disability. We encourage you to take a look at our Resource page and our past write ups on our News/Statements page (both located under the DEI menu button). If you ever have suggestions, comments about what is written or resources you think may help our community, please don’t hesitate to write to Coach Alex ([email protected]) or Coach Jeff DB ([email protected]).
