Getting Involved with Your LSC
Did you know that there are several ways for athletes to be involved in our, LSC, Illinois Swimming?
Join an Illinois Swimming committee: There are several committees in Illinois Swimming. Each one has to have 33% of its members consist of athletes (ages 13& up)! You may have seen an email that recently went out from the Illinois Swimming Athlete Committee. They are seeking new committee members and WILD would be proud to have you represent us! Here’s what they sent: The Illinois Swimming Athlete Rep Elections will take place on Saturday April 30th at 11:00am CT. The athletes are seeking 3 athlete reps (high schooler) to serve 2 year terms on the Illinois Swimming Board of Directors. Athlete Reps voice the opinions of the athlete body through active engagement in monthly meetings and event organization.
Nomination form is available HERE. Please be ready for a candidate speech during the virtual election. Click HERE to access the virtual election on April 30th at 11:00am.
Your teammate, Yordi Divelbess (Platinum), just finished serving the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. She was a force to be reckoned with and helped the committee complete important tasks that will further DEI in our LSC. She’ll be moving on to the Governance committee next! Not sure what it takes to serve? Find her on deck and have a quick chat!
Join Team Illinois for an event: One such event coming up is the Multicultural Meet taking place in Evansville, Indiana from June 10-12. Swimmers will get to compete in the brand new Lily King Competition pool in the Deaconess Aquatic Center. Deets are coming out soon on how to register for this meet. Any and all athletes can register! Have a question about this? Email Coach Alex ([email protected]).
